I have a good deal of latency when plugging my guitar into my scarlet 2i2, any tips for lowering it?

Hi JaMon

I have the scarlet. Here is what I do
- download the latest driver on Focusrirte website
- install it
- launch live and select the asio driver
- I am able to set the buffer down to 3 msec in the hardware config
- Of course this makes a roundtrip latency of 21,3 msec, which is almost unplayable
- If I add CPU intensive devices in my ableton session, then I have to raise the buffer again
...
- Finally I bought a mixer and forgot about having my guitar processed through ableton
- In my opinion it works only when you play some chill-out
- and maybe if you have a RME babyface, but I still want to try it to believe it ;)

Hi Jamon, how much latency are you experiencing? What is your buffer size currently set at?

I have a Focusrite Saffire 2in4out and i can go as low as 64 or up to 256 buffer size without experience any latency on my guitar signal. I'm pretty sure latency above 15mili seconds is when you experience a delay in your signal.
